The family is in mourning… Thursday 28 may 2020, it is with a heavy heart that Nicolas Bedos announced via his account Instagram the death of his father, Guy Bedos, at the age of 85 years. While the tributes to the actor were multiplied, and that many of the stars were emerging, it is discreet that his daughter, Victoria Bedos him had sent a message. On Instagram, the young mother had shared : “goodbye my father loved“, accompanied by a snapshot in black and white of Guy Bedos.
While a ceremony will be held this Thursday, June 4, 2020 at 14: 30 at the church of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, “district which he surveyed with joy“, stated Nicolas Bedos, his sister, Victoria, has shared a poignant and touching farewell letter to his dad in the latest issue of Paris Match. The actress 37-year-old said : “My father’s favourite, at a time when I’m writing, I’m lying in your bed, I wear your Cologne Roger Gallet and I’ve put one of your sweaters in cashmere, powdery pink, V neck, which you went so well. Outside, it’s hot, it’s almost summer, but I’m cold, so cold to thee. As cold as you when I’m coming to see you at the funeral home, yesterday afternoon, and that I posed a kiss on your forehead. It was freezing, I was in a panic because, apart from that, you had the air of being there, so there, I even failed to ask you a handkerchief to avoid to sniff too loudly at your sides. You’d always have a handkerchief in your pocket, ready to be unsheathed in case of grief. But, this time, you do to me not tense. I have wanted to. I want thee daddy, to not be there. And I’m crying while writing this sentence and you don’t tend still no handkerchief.“
“Worthy, thou hast been to the end”
In this deeply moving letter, Victoria Bedos has also suggested that the comedian has decided himself when he would. A choice that she could only meet… The young mother continues : “You are gone Thursday, 16: 30. He had to get out of the area, you wanted to leave, by rebel man, that thou art, thou hast done a hunger strike for it to stop. That this mental confusion ceases, as the fog in your head disappears. And mom, Nicolas and me, we understood, we accepted, and we didn’t struggle against your dignity. And worthy, you’ve been until the end. And elegant. And tender. So tender. Even exhausted, you have managed to send me a kiss. It has had to ask such an effort, but you to me have offered, that kiss, a kiss from dad who wants to make sure her little girl knows that he loves her. There it is, I repleure. It is painful to write this letter ! It is painful to live this life without you.“
