Halo Infinite, new details on multiplayer and the ‘Mark’ system

Another week, other details.

New week and obviously new details regarding the multiplayer sector of Halo Infinite. Through a new post on the official blog, Andrew Witts, lead multiplayer designer, revealed that the game will have a system called “Mark”, a practically new feature. According to reports, “it is a feature where players can mark a point in the world that allows teammates to know vital information such as the location of an enemy or a weapon“.

Witts also talked about another new element in Halo Infinite multiplayer: this new feature will help players understand where weapons and objects will be on the map, in an attempt to make the game easier to understand. “If I’m playing multiplayer for the first time and have never played a map, I have no idea where weapons spawn. We wanted to make it a better experience for players and so we created this feature“.

Weapons will essentially spawn on racks inspired by Halo 2: “We put weapon racks on the walls because we wanted to develop a visual language, so that players can make decisions in a short time about where to find a weapon. Knowledge of maps is still an important skill, but we wanted to find a way to help people by creating visible resources“.

Halo Infinite currently doesn’t have an official release date yet, but the game is expected to arrive later this year.
