A sleep merchant was condemned by the correctional court of Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) at; 18 months suspended sentence and " 20,000 euros fine; reports Le Parisien. From 2014 to 2021, this 76-year-old man, manager of a company, had housed a dozen tenants in deplorable conditions in a former hotel in Rueil-Malmaison.

He also lamented; severe humidity problems and the absence of compliant electrical installations. Two tenants, who occupied the premises without any lease, filed civil suits. One of them should receive around 12,000 euros from the sleep merchant. The other will have to wait until next January and the dismissal on civil interest to know the amount of his compensation.
