Prague – About 800 guests will be watching the inauguration of the new president Petr Pavel in a week on Thursday, including supporters and supporters from the presidential campaign. Other people were invited to a glass of wine in the Spanish Hall. The public will be able to watch the ceremony on large-screen screens on Hradčanské náměstí or the third castle courtyard. Some of the visitors will also go to the St. Vitus Cathedral, where after the inauguration there will be a prayer and a concert by the Czech Philharmonic. Jana Vohralíková, the future chancellor of the president, told ČTK. According to her, the Vladislav Hall will be decorated with flowers grown directly in the greenhouses of Prague Castle.

800 people were invited to the inauguration, of which about 600 are deputies, senators, judges, rectors, ambassadors and other representatives of important institutions and public life. Pavel was given the opportunity to invite 200 guests. According to Vohralíková, he sent the invitation mostly to supporters, well-wishers or people who helped him in the campaign. She did not rule out that among the invitees could be the neighbors of Pavel from Černouček, where he lives.
Pavel will make the solemn promise at a joint meeting of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, which will start at 2:00 p.m., in the hands of Senate President Miloš Vystrčilo (ODS ). After the ceremony, the end of which will be accompanied by artillery salvos, Pavel will deliver a speech.
According to earlier information, the ceremony should last about 50 minutes. This will be followed by a celebratory glass of wine for about 2,500 participants in the Spanish Hall. At the time when the people from the Vladislav Hall will move to it, Pavel will go with his wife to the balcony in the third courtyard to greet the public. According to Vohralíková, this moment will be accompanied by several surprises.
The First Lady will then go to the Spanish Hall, the President will go to the Matyáš Gate, where the Chief of the General Staff Karel Řehka will be waiting for him. “We want to express that the president is also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces,” the future chancellor noted. Řehka will give a report to the new president and accompany him to the statue of the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Garrigu Masaryk. Military historical banners will line the road. Pavel lays flowers by the statue. Subsequently, he will have the opportunity to greet people.
In the Spanish Hall, he rejoins his wife and greets the participants with a glass of wine. This will be followed by a performance by former members of the Spiritual Quintet group. They should play a few songs. Guitarist Jiří Holoubek told ČTK this week that they plan to sing songs that became popular in 1989, such as “I will stand for the truth”, “Once I will continue” and “When the law returns to us”.
Celebration at Prague Castle will end around 18:00 with an ecumenical prayer in the St. Wenceslas Chapel in the St. Vitus Cathedral for the Fatherland and the President. Pavel will then go to the main nave of the cathedral, where the Czech Philharmonic will play Te Deum by Antonín Dvořák under the direction of conductor Jakub Hrůš. According to the spokesperson of the Philharmonic Luďek Březina, they will perform together with the Prague Philharmonic Choir (PFS), in addition to the Te Deum, they will also perform the national anthem, Meditation on the Old Bohemian Chant of St. Wenceslas by Josef Suk and part of the oratorio St. Ludmila by Antonín Dvořák.
Organizers they do not assume that all the guests invited to the Spanish Hall will go to the St. Vitus Cathedral. Therefore, at 17:45 people waiting in the third castle courtyard will also be able to get into the cathedral. They, as well as the public on Hradčanské náměstí, will have the opportunity to watch the entire celebration on large screens. “We invite the public, we will be very happy if they come and enjoy the festive moment,” said Vohralíková.
