Brno schoolboy Horký has had his best season so far. In the Komety jersey, he played 47 games in the regular season and scored 34 points for 20 goals and 14 assists. He was thus the best scorer of the South Moravians and the second most productive player. He added six points (2+4) in 10 starts in the elimination games. Five starts increased the number of representative appearances to ten. Now he has a new experience ahead of him.
“I wanted to move a little further in my career and I believe that the Finnish league is the best possible path for my further development. I chose the Pelicans because I am he heard a lot of good things about the club. I'm looking forward to getting to know my new teammates and the whole city of Lahti,” said Horký, who won the extra league championship with his parent Brno in 2018.
The club want to rely on him and expect its further growth. “He is a big player who has good movement and is a very good shooter. There are certain similarities with Jiří Smejkal, who used to play here. However, Horký is not quite the same power forward as Smejkal, because he is much more skilled with the puck.” said Pelicans head coach Tommi Niemelä.
