Prague – The hockey players of Třince and Brno won the second game of the preliminary round of the extra league play off and are one step away from advancing to the quarterfinals. Mistrovský Třinec beat Litvínov 5:4 in overtime, Brno beat Mlada Boleslav 2:1. Both teams can secure promotion as early as Saturday.

Defender Jakub Jeřábek decided the win for the Steelers at 66:46 with his second goal of the day. Třinec was closer to winning already in regular time, but in the final six minutes they did not hold the lead 3:2 and 4:3. The guests used three power plays in which Nicolas Hlava scored twice.

Slovakian forward Adrián Holešinský contributed two goals and Jakub Pour three assists. Goalkeeper Dominik Pavlát kept a clean sheet in the playoffs for the first time in his career.

Olomouc and Karlovy Vary finished the first match of the series today. On Wednesday, their duel ended at 2:0 after the first period due to an unsuitable playing surface. Today, Hanáci added two more goals and finally won 4:1. Attackers Pavel Musil and Jakub Orsava signed their win with a goal and an assist.
