From 2016 to 2019 in Ukraine significantly increased the number of parents who are not afraid to vaccinate their children. For three years, the number vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella infants (under one year) has doubled – in 2016 this figure was less than 45%. Now it’s 90%.
Also vaccinated and those children who had not done the necessary vaccines. In 2017-2018 as part of the supplementary immunization activities against measles vaccination has made more than 700 thousand children under 18, according to the Ministry of health.

Popular was the vaccination against other diseases:
- 67.5% of infants are immunized against pertussis, diphtheria and tetanus. In 2016 this index remained at 21%;
- 65.2% of children have been vaccinated against hepatitis b, which is three times more than in 2016;
- 84% of babies vaccinated against tuberculosis;
- 69,5% against polio.
However, the Ministry of health indicate that even these results are not sufficient. For the formation of collective immunity need to have all the necessary vaccinations have done 95-98% of Ukrainians.
Earlier in Ukraine more than 10 years, annually measles vaccination was less than 60% of children. Over the years the number of unvaccinated only grew. As a result, the measles outbreak, which continues in Ukraine since the summer of 2017. During this time ill more than 115 thousand people, 39 – died from complications of measles,
– the Ministry noted.

The situation of vaccine is gradually improving. In particular, measures to overcome Cory attended in Lviv and Khmelnytskyi region. There are number of vaccinated children in schools and kindergartens has increased to 90 and 95%, respectively.
