Twitch plans to launch new interactive programs oriented towards themes such as dating, gaming or sport.

Since the beginning of the containment, many of the services have experienced a sharp increase in their use. This is the case of many applications of video conferencing, but also of platforms of video conferencing. Netflix has put its record number of subscribers in the first quarter with more than 15 million new users around the world.
What is the purpose of such a project for Twitch ?
The leader of the streaming is not the only one to enjoy the health situation, because Twitch has also registered a strong increase in users and the time spent on its platform. The company that owns the platform, Amazon, has decided to try out new formats that go beyond the framework of the video game initially provided by the service. With these changes, Twitch hopes to consolidate its base of followers while expanding the unveiling of the interactive programs of a new kind.
In a report, Bloomberg indicates that Twitch plans to finance a series of original non-scripted and based on the interaction with the users. It could be aired two to three per week and would focus on themes such as dating, gaming or even sport. This would represent between four to ten hours of programming per week.
According to the documents, these emissions would be directed at two types of users of Twitch : on one side, the men of 18-to 24-year-old amateur playing video games and on the other, individuals 18 to 24 years interested in the entertainment.
To achieve its objective, Twitch could spend between 50 000 and 250 000 dollars per week. If this amount may seem small compared to other players such as Netflix and HBO, it should be to the height to allow for the realization of the ambitions of the us platform.
With such a project, Twitch hopes to stand out while making a link between the field of video games and television. It is also necessary that the community adheres to the concept and that it is up to the task, because the projects that combine the Internet culture on tv can sometimes not be to the height (… at least in their infancy).
