Prague – In an online vote, the Prague Pirates approved joining the municipal coalition with Spolu (ODS, TOP 09, KDU-ČSL) and the STAN movement. 86 percent of voters were in favor. ČTK was informed by their spokesperson Martina Vacková. The two-day vote was preceded by a five-day closed forum discussion. Other parties have already approved joining the coalition. Politicians plan to sign the contract before the meeting of representatives on February 16, where they want to elect a new leadership of the metropolis headed by Mayor Bohuslava Svoboda (ODS).

In order to enter the coalition, the votes of the majority of the members of the Pirate Party in the metropolis, of which there are approximately three hundred, were needed. “Our internal party holiday of democracy, i.e. the voting of all male and female Pirates in Prague, pleased me, the result could already be predicted from the ongoing constructive discussion,” said the chairman of the Prague regional association Ondřej Chrást. “The implementation of most of our program priorities in the wording of the coalition agreement was for many members, as well as for me, an argument for joining. In the previous four years, we managed to initiate a number of positive changes, and the coalition agreement provides for their continuation,” he said.
< p>The draft coalition agreement, which the negotiators of Spolu, Pirátů and STAN completed last Friday, has already been approved by the authorities of the ODS, TOP 09, the People's Party and, most recently, the regional committee of the Prague STAN.
In the newly emerging coalition, Spolu will have five representatives in the eleven-member city council, while ODS will have three representatives, including Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda, and TOP 09 will have two representatives. The People's Party will not be represented in the council, the Pirates will have four councilors and STAN two. The coalition will have a majority of 36 votes in the 65-member council. Although she ran for Spolu, the signature of the current councilor and senator Hana Kordová Marvanová is missing under the contract.
Negotiations about a coalition in Prague based on the government plan of Spolu, Pirátů and STAN have been going on since last September's elections, and have gradually become more complicated for various reasons . The situation was unblocked in mid-January by Spolu's offer, so that the Pirates and STAN would have a combined majority in the council, and subsequently the withdrawal of the Pirates from the alliance they had previously established with Praha Sobě. won 19 mandates in the council. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The Pirates have 13 representatives and Praha Sobě 11 mandates. Five representatives were won by the STAN movement and three by the SPD. Negotiations on a coalition have been going on since last September's elections, making them the longest since the creation of the Czech Republic.
