In the Antarctic a second time in February was recorded temperature record – the air warmed up to 20 degrees. About it reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to The Guardian.

According to the publication, Brazilian scientists on 9 February has recorded a new temperature record on the island of Seymour. The air temperature reached the level of 20.75 degrees. However, the world meteorological organization has not yet confirmed the record.

It is noted that this temperature, according to scientists, is an anomaly for Antarctica. Warming also notice another 22 stations in Antarctica.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that at noon on 6 Feb research station Esperanza on the Antarctic Peninsula North recorded a temperature of 18.3. It was a historical record since 1961. Normal for this period is considered to be the temperature to +1.

As he wrote RBC-Ukraine, the past decade was the warmest on record, NASA scientists and National oceanic and atmospheric administration, since 1880. In 2019, the average global temperature was 0.95 degrees higher than the average in the 20th century and by 1.11 degrees higher than in the 19th century.
