In Russia, it was proposed to introduce the mandatory use of special inflatable vests by children while swimming in reservoirs. Such an initiative was made by the head of the public movement “For Security” Dmitry Kurdesov in a letter addressed to the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Yevgeny Zinichev, reports RT.
According to Kurdesov, it is necessary to introduce the mandatory use of inflatable vests for children under the age of six years inclusive while swimming in water bodies, as well as administrative responsibility for ignoring this rule by adults.
The head of the movement noted that in the summer, news about the death of children while bathing in reservoirs often appears in the media. Children under the age of six are the most vulnerable group, since they do not always have the necessary swimming skills and sufficient muscle mass to rise to the surface on their own, Kurdesov said.
In January, the rules for the use of beaches came into force in Russia, according to which bathing places must have designated boundaries.
