In the construction in the city of Incheon in Northwest South Korea, a fire occurred that killed at least 38 people, 10 people were injured, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
According to reports, the fire occurred near 13:30 local time at the construction site of the warehouse, which was about 78 workers. The location of most of them is still unknown. The authorities do not exclude the possibility of increasing the number of dead and injured.
According to the preliminary version, the cause of the fire could be a gas explosion while conducting construction work on one of the underground floors, and then the fire quickly spread to the whole building. The death of the workers could have caused this stampede.
The fire Department stated that “the high number of victims due to the fact that people have lost a lot of time to evacuate after the explosion and the beginning of the spread of smoke.” The flame was extinguished only after five hours.
