“After arriving at the place, where the representative of the municipality and the geotechnician were already located, the firemen found out through investigation that a bank with a size of around one thousand square meters of soaked clay had moved,” said the spokeswoman . According to her, after the decision of the geotechnician, the firemen started using pumps to pump water from the wells above the place of the landslide in order to lower the groundwater level.
After noon, the firemen finished the work and returned to the bases. “Only the local firefighters remained on the scene. Further work and the provision of pumping water using unattended pumps will be provided by the representatives of the municipality, including equipment for digging up the soil,” added Javoříková.
Firefighters recognize four levels of alarm. The most serious is the fourth, which they announce only in extraordinary situations.
