The social network Instagram began to reveal to its millions of users on Tuesday the next modifications that will arrive on the platform, both in its version for mobile phones Android or Apple iOS,in regards to its popular stories.
As they revealed, they will withdraw ephemeral content from this format the current way of adding links, which requires swiping up – known as Swipe up-, and will replace them with the new stickers with hyperlinks.
Until now, the only way to insert links into ephemeral Stories posts was through the swipe up feature, but Only verified accounts or accounts with at least 10,000 followers could use it.
In a modification more than expected by users, Instagram confirmed to The Verge site that this way of adding links will disappear from the platform, and that it will notify it in the form of notifications to users to warn that will no longer be available since August 30 of this year.
The links will be available to all Instagram users.
The goal of the social network purchased by Mark Zuckerberg is to provide more authoring controls and improve the user experience, since for example it is not possible to respond to Stories that include links to slide, something that is possible in the new type of ‘stickers’ with links.
Instagram has already started distribute the stickers with links between several users since June in test form, this time not only for verified accounts.
Regarding these publications, the social network has not yet introduced globally the promoted sticker with which it offers automatic transcripts, which are currently available in English.
The caption stickers, that is, the automatic transcription designs, are available in the Stories – publications that expire – after making their appearance in the IGTV and Threads applications, linked to the Instagram social network. Users can modify the style as well as the color once they have been generated, as well as correct errors that they detect.
With the automatic transcripts In Stories and Reels, Instagram wants these contents to be more inclusive and efficient, and to allow them to be followed by users who are deaf or hard of hearing, but also by those who are not native English speakers or who view these contents No audio.
