At the foot of the city Yuri Gagarin Ivry-sur-Seine, in the course of demolition, Walid Badi and two other volunteers of the association Solidaritess, Samba and Sofiane, knock on the door of the beneficiaries.

These are people whose movements are limited to : elderly, disabled, or sick of the coronavirus. “You brought your little races”, announce the volunteers, Ida, reached the Covid-19.

“This is very important because I can’t get out and there, I have everything that I need for the week, thanks Ida. Otherwise I have no one to help me. I am very happy because they are very kind and they do everything they can to give me what I need.”

In the morning, Walid Badi collects and stores food donations and prepare bags of groceries. They are then distributed to the headquarters of the association Solidaritess. “It was distributed to no less than 90 families this morning. We give them a bag of groceries and a bag of fruit and vegetables, as is done in delivery. In fact, we’ve not far from 300-400 people, which is really huge”, ensures the wingman of the U.S. Ivry.

Walid has quickly stopped the workout at home. He has devoted all his time to the association.

For the international, it is “a duty” to help others. “The recognition that one can have, all in, it’s coming from the spectators, who support us, who come to the gym and support us every day”, explains Walid Badi. The handballeur also knows that he has a role to play as a character in the media. “It may be a little more listened to that some people, it is necessary to use this image. Provided that this is done for good things. We are the first actors of solidarity.”

His day of volunteering ends by a marauding up to 22 hours with the homeless people of Ivry-sur-Seine.
