Prague – The British multi-genre band Jamiroquai played a cross-section of their albums at the Metronome festival and got some of the girls and women in the audience dancing. The concert of one of the biggest stars of this year's festival, which President Petr Pavel watched from the VIP area along with several thousand attendees, started a quarter of an hour earlier due to fears of rain. He brought a music show on the border between funk, acid jazz, soul, rock, disco and electro.

Leader of the group is singer-songwriter Jason Kay, who arrived on stage wearing a black Native American headdress. He recalled that the name of the band was born from the combination of the name of the Iroquois tribe and the multi-meaning word “jam”.

Jamiroquai offered songs from their famous albums from the 90s and the early 20th century to the rhythm of the moving crowd. For example, the song Alright from the 1996 album Traveling Without Moving, which earned the group the Guinness Book of World Records as the best-selling funk album of all time, was performed. There was also an older recording of The Return of the Space Cowboy, from which fans applauded Space Cowboy and Light Years, and recognized the songs You Give Me Something and a Little L from the A Funk Odyssey album. So far, the last album by Jamiroquai Automaton, released six years ago, was replaced by the song Summer Girl.

Even before the Jamiroquai concert, among others, the Norwegian singer Aurora performed. On the main stage, the Midi project also attracted people & Laco Lučenič with a special program dedicated to the “electronic period” of Miroslav Žbirka consisting of compositions from his albums Nemoderný chalan, Chlapec z ulice and Zlomky poznania. Each of the songs was accompanied by a special projection. Žbirk's son David also performed with the authors of the project.

Tonight, the Monkey Business Spexial project will close on the indoor stage of the Ploom Moon Club with guests Dan Bárta, Ota Klempíř and Michael Viktořík from J.A.R. and an extended breathing section. In the morning, the electronic duo Bratři will perform.

Friday's program of the Metronome Prague festival will begin at 15:45 with the Czech-Berlin project Yasha 96, the French singer Zaz and the British guitar group Editors will take over the main stage later. Fans of electronic music will be delighted by the German Moderat. Metronome Prague also includes an accompanying program called Metronome Fair. It includes outdoor installations, film productions and presentations of the activities of non-profit organizations.
