Turku (Finland) – Javelin thrower Jakub Vadlejch won gold the Continental Tour meeting in Turku with a performance of 89.51 meters. Thanks to this, the Olympic silver medalist reached the top of this year's world charts at the Paavo Nurmi Games.

The 32-year-old Vadlejch won last Monday at the rainy and cold Odložil memorial, he triumphed in sunny weather in Finland. He started the race with a performance of 86.67 and performed the winning throw in the second series. The last two attempts, the protégé of world record holder Jan Železný, missed and won by more than two meters ahead of Oliver Helander from home (87.32).
At the top of the world charts, Vadlejch was replaced by the Indian Níraj Čopra, who replaced him in the Diamond League at the beginning of May in Doha, he beat it by four centimeters with a performance of 88.67.
Fifth place was taken by Finnish native Kristiina Mäki in the 1,500-meter run. The Czech record holder ran a time of 4:05.08 and improved by more than four seconds her best performance of the year on this course from Chorzów the weekend before last.
