Parliamentaries of the Christian Democracy pointed against the party's directive and accused Stalinist decisions and totalitarianism . This after the interruption of the national board, where they accused irregularities.
Interrupted was the national board of the Christian Democracy (DC), after the annoyance of several militants, after learning that the party's Supreme Court would be operating illegally, according to its period of validity designated by the Electoral Service.
By means of a statement, a group of militants, who manifested “in a state of reflection”, accused undemocratic acts and assured that the board of directors would be validating irregular situations.
Consequently, the party's former president, Fuad Chahín, took aim at Alberto Undurraga's leadership and warned that massive resignations will increase.
“I think that, at the end of the day, Alberto Undurraga has become a different face to continue leading the party down the path of self-destruction, and therefore, I do not rule out that in the coming days there will be massive resignations from the party, as a result of the fact that in the end it is kidnapped by a directive that has the purpose of destroying the Christian Democracy”, emphasized Chahín.
One of the goals of the board is precisely to elect the new members of the Supreme Court and the National Council.
Totalitarianism and Stalinist decisions: the reactions after the interruption of the DC national board
One of the vice presidents of the party and signer of the declaration, Joanna Pérez, regretted the position taken by the directive regarding this conclave.
“We had said that we expected this as a great space for reflection, but also to make better decisions going forward, and once again they wanted to continue with totalitarianism, not understanding that Chile needs a Christian Democracy that he face unitedly with all his visions, the country's proposals', said the parliamentarian for the Bío Bío region.
Everything happens in the midst of the internal crisis that the party has been experiencing for several months now. The deputy, Miguel Calisto, was one of those who also launched accusations against the directive, and said that he will evaluate his permanence in the party.
“In my opinion, to participate in a National Board, under these conditions, is to validate an irregular situation within the Christian Democracy, it seems to me that Stalinist decisions are being made, we are in the midst of One of the biggest crises in our history, and the option that the national board has taken, is control”, Calisto added for his part.
In the board of directors they have not wanted to give statements regarding the subject, however, they are in the development of the board waiting for a new proposal to integrate the Supreme Court and Council National.
