John Kelvin was transferred to Ancón ll prison to serve preventive detention

On the afternoon of Saturday, July 10, the Judiciary ordered that the cumbia singer Jonathan Sarmiento Crying be transferred to Ancón II prison to serve preventive detention for seven months while the investigations for the alleged crimes of sexual, physical and psychological rape to the detriment of his wife Dalia Durán last.

On July 6, it was determined that John Kelvin, as he is known artistically, was taken from the San Miguel police station to the jail of the Judiciary. This in accordance with the ruling ordered by the Judge María Contreras González, of the 26th Court of Preparatory Investigation of the Superior Court of Justice.

The resolution was made public through the official Twitter account of the Judiciary. Minutes later, Jose Carlos Mejia, lawyer of Jonathan Sarmiento, announced to various media that he would file an appeal.

“He is assisted by the right of presumption of innocence, liberty and due process. No subject who is in an investigation process should have their right to due process violated, “he said.
