Where most talk shows focus on the talk of the day, Johnny de Mol wanted to be at the beginning of new talk show HLF8 (SBS6) of his guests know what their feeling of the day used to be. In the hour that followed, that difference was honored. For example, the presenter let slip that his guests “smoked nice and new”, although it was certainly not the first time that television-watching Netherlands was allowed to sniff Henny Huisman.
The emotional talk show could not ignore the Grand Prix in Zandvoort and certainly not about the moment when, said De Mol, “no one kept it dry”. He was referring to the interpretation of the first verse of the Wilhelmus by Davina Michelle. The 25-year-old singer was a guest in the studio and tore through the turns of her experiences as if she were Max Verstappen herself: about the congratulations she had sent Verstappen, about her father who had received free beer, about how she felt in the national anthem had deepened.
