Abitibien Guillaume Gaulin returned from the Canadian Open Judo Championships, played this weekend in Montreal, with a bronze medal in his suitcases.

In his first year in the senior category under 90 kilos, the color bearer of Club Juvaldo de Val-d&#x27 ;Or won his first two fights of the tournament against athletes from British Columbia and Ontario to reach the semi-finals, where he would be defeated by seeded and eventual champion Alexandre Arencibia.

Two other Club Juvaldo members were taking part in these Canadian Championships. Louka Vallière recorded two victories and suffered as many losses in the senior under 81 kilograms to finish in 9th place, her best result at this event.

Finally, in the U16 under 50 kilograms, Ayden Berger did not savor victory in his first experience at this level of competition, but nevertheless demonstrated great skills against more experienced judokas, according to Jean-Laurier Bérubé, technical director of the Club Juvaldo.

In the U16 under 63 kilograms, Béatrice Groleau of Rouyn-Noranda finished 7th.
