Karviná – Karviná football players were the first of the league teams to start summer training for the new season. The only newcomer to the top flight started without significant changes, the only new face is defender Michal Hošek. The 22-year-old defender is currently on trial at the Silesian club from Slavia Prague, for whom he played in the second division reserve.

“It won't be like last summer, when we changed the whole team. We have our own face and we can only hope that we have a lucky hand in adding to the squad,” he quoted club website of Karvina coach Tomáš Hejdušek.
The nineteen-year-old Brazilian Kahuan Vinicius, who was the best scorer in the youth league with 22 goals, joined the team. Goalkeeper Vladimír Neuman will join after the U21 European Championship and defender Jan Žídek on Monday. Kelvin Boateng's and Adam Vrba's loan spell ended.
On May 28, after the last round of the season, the Karvin team dominated the second league and returned to the elite after a year. Zbrojovka Brno, on the other hand, was relegated from the top competition.
