Karviná – Karviná football players are returning to the top competition after a one-year hiatus. In the final 30th round of the second league, they defeated certain relegated Třinec 1:0 at home and dominated the table by four points ahead of Vyškov.

After the autumn part of the season, coach Tomáš Hejdušek's men lost six points to the leader Příbram from fifth place in the table. During the successful spring, they lost only once and won four times in the last five rounds.

Vyškov played without goals in Chrudim and will face Zlín in the play-off. The third Příbram, which drew 2:2 on the field of Táborsk, will play against Pardubice in the double match for the top competition. The second relegated to the third league was B-team Slavia, who lost 1:3 in Prostějov.

The Karvins had a great advantage from the start. In the first half, the outsider from Třinec was stopped several times by the goalkeeper Hasalík, once he was helped by the crossbar. Even after the change of sides in front of 3,129 spectators, the home side kept throwing away chances for a long time, but in the 87th minute the substitute Bartl decided the Karvina triumph.

Not even a few players from the A-team helped the Slavic “B” in Prostějov to gain points. Midfielder Hronek only reduced the lead to 2:1 in the 70th minute. Those from Prague, who are leaving the second league after only one season, also paid for the home victory of their competitors in the fight for survival. Jihlava outclassed Vlašim 5:0 and Opava beat Varnsdorf 2:1 after a turnover at the end.

Vyškov and Příbram both lost points after a three-game winning streak. In Tábor, the Central Bohemians were able to overcome the unfavorable situation twice thanks to the goals of Vokřínek and Petrák. Today, Vyškov would win first place and direct promotion only if it defeated Chrudim and Karviná lost to Třinac.
