The mother of three children, Kate Middleton discovered the joys of motherhood for the first time in 2013. As prince George prepares to celebrate its 7 years, the expert royal Katie Nicholl has revealed what is the other name, the duchess of Cambridge was particularly fond of.
Each royal birth is to be born the same effervescence in the United Kingdom : what will be the name of the future member of the royal family ? If many British people thought that the first name of the first child of Kate Middleton and prince William would be Albert, or Arthur, the duke and duchess of Cambridge have surprised the world by revealing the name of the one who would become third in the order of succession to the british throne : George Alexander Louis.
If the couple had chosen not to know the sex of their child before the birth, they had a list of potential names to give to their little girl or their little boy. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the expert, royal Katie Nicholl told : “close friends of the couple say that William wanted it to be a surprise. Although Kate had apparently suspected that it was a boy and had a blow of heart for the name Alexander, they had not yet decided what to call their first child.” The expert royal continued : “It seems that Kate has affectionately nicknamed his baby bump ‘Our little grape‘ during her pregnancy and there was a flurry of betting on possible names.“
Why Kate and William have chosen their names ?
If the duke and duchess of Cambridge have preferred to finally call their son George, each of his names has a special meaning. In fact, George would be a reference to the father of Elizabeth II, George VI, but also to George I, who was the first monarch of the house of Hanover to ascend the british throne. Alexander would be linked to the second name of queen Elizabeth and the first name of queen Victoria, either, Alexandrina. Finally, the name Louis refers to Louis Mountbatten, the last viceroy of british India who was murdered by the provisional IRA.
