Czech superbike rider Oliver König.
Phillip Island (Australia) – Czech rider Oliver König did not score points at the start of the Superbike World Championship season in Australia. After sitting out on Saturday due to technical problems, he took 17th place in the sprint today at Phillip Island and finished 18th in the second main race of the weekend. Spanish defending champion Álvaro Bautista decided all three competitive races for himself.

Unlike Saturday, this time the race was dry, and twenty-year-old König, who scored three points in last year's first full season in superbikes, was far from winning. In the sprint, he finished at the beginning after contact with an opponent off the track, but he continued and at the finish line he was almost fifteen seconds away from fifteenth place. In the main race of almost one hundred kilometers, the rider of the Orelac Racing team Movisio was almost half a minute behind in the points.
The championship will continue in a week in Indonesia.
