Krčmář already lost in the opening item, when he delayed the last blow for a long time and spent 46 seconds on the mat. Then he missed the first standing shot, but managed the rest of the shooting cleanly and got into the top ten for the first time at this WC.
Champion Bö decided to win on the track, at twenty kilometers he was one minute and 46 seconds faster than the second best runner Jeremy Finello from Switzerland. In the shooting total, Bö beat compatriot Sturla Holm Laegreid and Sweden's Sebastian Samuelsson by more than a minute, who won additional medals with one penalty minute.
