Twelfth ranked player Krejčíková won the match in two hours and 20 minutes. A year older, she defeated Koviničová for the second time and ended her streak of six wins.
The two-time winner of last year's Roland Garros won the first set thanks to four breaks. In the second set, Koviničová improved her serve, in the fifth game she broke Krejčíková's serve and leveled the duel. However, in the decisive action, the Czech Republic did not give her opponent a chance and gave her the “canary”.
Today in Madrid, Marie Bouzková will also be in action, challenging Aliaksandra Sasnovičová from Belarus. The tournament for Petra Kvitová, Markéta Vondroušová, Linda Fruhvirtová and Karolína Muchová already ended on Thursday.
