Fruhvirtová swept Svitolina at the start in Birmingham, Bouzková dropped out

Twenty-four-year-old Bouzková lost her third match in a row in the first match of the year on grass. Before the tournament in Birmingham, she was also eliminated in the opening stage at Roland Garros and in Rome.
