Due to a summer injury, the biggest star of Czech winter sports lost the second peak of the season. He will not even start at the Alpine Skiing World Championships, which are currently being held in France. However, she has not finished the season yet. She could receive permission to return to racing from the doctors this week, when she will have a check-up X-ray.

Ledecká was injured when she fell from an electric skateboard. The injury then healed poorly, so she had to undergo a second operation in November. It was successful, but the recovery is still ongoing. Back in January, the twenty-seven-year-old Czech could only train for conditioning, the doctors did not allow her to ski or snowboard.

Now she has already reached the slopes. “She is training snowboarding here not far from Innsbruck, where she will have a follow-up X-ray this week,” said Alchus.

Only in the case of favorable X-ray results can Ledecká be allowed to return to racing. “Unfortunately, it didn't work out until this week, so she had to cancel her participation in the World Championships. She was really looking forward to going. She feels good physically and mentally, but she needs the final green light from the doctor who operated on her,” the spokeswoman added.

Ledecká still does not rule out that she will still compete this season. “He expects to return this season and is very much looking forward to it,” the spokeswoman said. The elite skier and snowboarder has not yet signed a representation contract with the union, which both sides have been unsuccessfully negotiating for many months. “She believes that there will be an agreement so that she can compete,” Alchusová added.

On the board, Ledecka won two of her Olympic gold medals, and when she got to it in recent years, she was always among the favorites . Ledecká last competed in the snowboarding world championship six years ago. She missed out on the 2019 World Championships because she preferred the concurrent Alpine Skiing World Championships. Two years ago, she wanted to start in Rogla, Slovenia, but due to an injury, she withdrew the morning before the first race.
