LG formalizes its new smartphone, Velvet, with a terminal mid-range to the design rather neat, but displayed at a price a little too optimistic…
Velvet, or the return of LG
There was a time when LG was considered as a leader in the market of smartphones, thanks to an LG G3 particularly successful and appreciated. However, at the present time, LG has struggled to get a place among the giants, Samsung, Apple and Huawei, but also among the challengers such as Xiaomi, Honor, OnePlus… Yet, in 2020, LG is attempting yet another comeback, with its new range of Velvet.
The best Android smartphones Galaxy S20
909 € Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro
199 € Huawei P30 Pro
A new smartphone rather brilliantly teasé by LG in recent weeks, and that has just been made official in South Korea. The opportunity to (re)discover a design very worked, especially in relation to the rear part of the smartphone, with a provision really very successful triple sensor photo.
Too expensive, the LG Velvet ?
At the front, there is a very large slab OLED touch of 6.8″, which is topped with a small center notch. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 765 coupled to 8 Gb of RAM, not to mention a storage space of 128 Gb. Note that the smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor located under the screen, and the terminal is certified to IP68. It remains, however, on a segment of the type ” mid-range” , but with her looks, the LG Velvet clearly has something to appeal to.
A smartphone comes in different colours, namely green, black, white and even orange. On paper, the LG Velvet has so many arguments to persuade, and clearly represents a true comeback for the automaker, after years of famine.
We regret, however, a tariff that seems a bit too ” optimistic” , since LG is going to offer the Velvet at a rate equivalent to $ 700 in Korea. The smartphone is also expected in Europe and the United States, now only remains to know at what price…
