Canada says Liberal stewardess Julie Djerovich won Toronto’s Davenport Riding by a margin of 165 votes.
Djerovich, who received 19,860 votes, defeated NDP candidate Alejandra Bravo, who received 19,695 votes. The conservative candidate Jenny Kalimbett came in third with 4,740 votes.
According to Elections Canada’s website, the counting of all special ballots on the West End is over on Wednesday night.
Riding voted in liberal candidates from 1962 to 2011.
Former NDP MP Andrew Cash held the seat from 2011 to 2015. But, among the established politicians amidst the liberal wave of Justin Trudeau was Cash.
Djerovich was first elected in 2015 after working in banking and biotechnology for two decades. He defeated Cash by 1,472 votes for the second time in the 2019 election.
