Delhi – Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský met with representatives of the Tibetan community in India today and in an interview with the WION station, he talked about bilateral Czech-Indian relations and Chinese influence in the region. He also mentioned that he will have a meeting with representatives of two airlines and that Prague is ready to introduce a direct air connection with India.

“During my visit to India, it was a pleasure to meet representatives of Tibetans in exile again. The friendship between Václav Havel and His Holiness the Dalai Lama lives on,” wrote Lipavský on Twitter.
China claims that it has liberated Tibet and is improving its fate population by financing economic development. However, the Tibetans blame Beijing for oppressing the local population, language and culture.
Lipavský gave an interview to the WION news channel, in which he talked about Czech-Indian relations as well as China's influence in the Indo-Pacific region .
“The purpose of my visit to India is to show that the Czech Republic is ready to cooperate and that we have something to offer. We have a great university, we have great companies. We want to build mutually interesting relations in terms of research and innovation. We have a very strong automotive industry,” said Lipavský.< /p>
In the interview, he also addressed the possibilities of cooperation in the defense industry. “Russia's war against Ukraine shows that the Russian military is not a reliable partner. We have a very good defense industry and we are ready to show it to India. Some projects are already underway and we want to be able to deepen this kind of cooperation,” he said.
China the Czech Foreign Minister described as an economic power that is also becoming a military power. “I think India understands that very, very well. I think Europe understands that pretty well. And certainly the United States understands that very well, and we have to be able to work together and talk to the Chinese in a way that we can avert potential future conflicts that may arise,” said the Czech minister.
