From Cluses to the uphill arrival of Tignes: 144.9 very hard kilometers that wink at the yellow jersey Tadej Pogacar

From Cluses to Tignes, the second and last alpine stage of the 108 Tour de France – on the eve of the first day of rest – goes from Cluses to Tignes for a total of 144.9 km. And on the ninth day it offers the first real uphill finish of this edition, on a milestone that the Boucle touches for the second time. The first, just two years ago, is already in history: due to a real storm with associated landslides and landslides, the times of that stage were taken on top of the Iseran and a certain Egan Bernal took the jersey yellow that two days later she wore in Paris. The stage starts at 1 pm, the finish is expected around 6.40 pm, and there are five mountain grand prixes for over 50 km of total ascent. Here are the details: after 19.6 km the Cote de Domancy, second category: 2.5 km at 9.4%; after 49.4 km the Col des Saisies, first category: 9.4 km at 6.2%; after 80.9 km the Col du Prè, out of category: 12.6 km at 7.7%; after 93.3 km the Cormet de Roselend, second category: 5.7 km at 6.5%. The final climb – first category (even if the finish is 1.9 km after the GPM) – measures 21 km with an average gradient of 5.6%.
