Press conference on the occasion of the signing of the coalition agreement between Spolu (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL), Piráty and STAN, February 15, 2023, Prague.
Prague – Representatives of Spolu (ODS, TOP 09 and KDU-ČSL), Pirátů and STAN today signed a coalition agreement at the Prague municipality. The coalition has a majority of 36 votes in the 65-member assembly. The parties signed the coalition agreement almost five months after the municipal elections, which is the longest in the history of the Czech Republic, and Prague remained the last municipality without a new leadership after the elections. The election of councilors and the mayor is planned for Thursday's meeting of representatives. The candidate for mayor is the leader Spolu Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS).
Spolu will have five representatives in the eleven-member city council, while ODS will have three, including the mayor, and TOP 09 will have two. Instead of positions in the council, the KDU-ČSL will fill the positions of chairmen of two municipal committees. Pirates will have four councilors and STAN two.
The Spolu coalition won the municipal elections last fall, winning 19 mandates. ANO ended second with 14 mandates. The Pirates have 13 representatives and Praha Sobě 11 mandates. Five representatives were won by the STAN movement and three by the SPD.
