Liverpool – Liverpool players beat Everton 2:0 in the 23rd round of the English league in the city derby. Coach Jürgen Klopp's men have won in the Premier League after four games and for the first time in this calendar year. Liverpool moved up to ninth place in the table, Everton remained in the relegation zone in 18th place.

Egyptian Salah opened the Merseyside derby with a goal in the 36th minute, Gakpo added the insurance for the hosts at the Anfield stadium shortly after the change of sides. The Dutch striker scored for Liverpool for the first time after his winter transfer from PSV Eindhoven. Gakpo only scored a goal in his seventh competitive match for the “Reds”.
Everton failed to build on last year's surprise 1-0 home win over leaders Arsenal and came away empty-handed in their second game under new manager Dych.
