London – A week after a crushing 7-0 win over Manchester United, Liverpool's players surprisingly lost 0-1 at outsider Bournemouth in the 27th round of the English league. The match was decided by Philip Billing, Liverpool gunner Muhammad Salah did not convert a penalty in the second half. In the incomplete table, the home team broke away from the last place.

Liverpool outclassed Bournemouth 9-0 in their last meeting last August, handing their southern English rivals their heaviest league defeat in history, this time falling short against the relegation-fighting team. The only goal came in the 28th minute, when Ouattara made an individual escape and a subsequent back pass to create a chance for Billing, who beat Alisson.
Twenty minutes before the end of the game, the guests could equalize after the referee ordered a penalty kick for Smith's hand. But Salah did not hit the goal at all. Liverpool failed to create further scoring opportunities as they lost to Bournemouth for the first time since 2016 and could lose fifth place in the table on Sunday.
