Man with down syndrome was safely recovered from coronavirus — although the doctors were confident that he would not live more than a day.
Saturday, April 18, Ben McCafferty finally reunited with his family after he was able to overcome a deadly infection. His adoptive father, Neil, filmed the touching moment on camera as a sign of “gratitude” hospital, Bradford Royal Infirmary (West Yorkshire).
In the video Ben meets at the chamber mother, Di Margerison — and the one hugging her, turns to the doctors and nurses to once again say “thank you” before leaving.
“Ben was admitted [to hospital] two weeks ago, explains Neal behind the scenes — in a very serious condition”.
“We didn’t expect that he’ll pull through. The doctors said that the chances of survival are minimal. But the effort and concern of medical personnel <…> during these weeks helped him get back on his feet. Now he is back in form and ready to go home.”
Ben was accompanied with thunderous applause.
“I thought he would not survive, — admits Dee, who could not see his son for a long 14 days <…> but the doctors did the impossible.”
“Words can not convey how grateful I am”.
