Since retiring from tennis last year, Maria Sharapova has been very active on the business front. Now it is in the news to invest in technology and wellness company Therabody.
The company’s prototype, Theragun, was launched in 2016 and has been a hit among athletes. This is an instrument invented by Dr. Jason that releases deeper muscle tension through vibrations.
In a recent interview with CNBC, the five-time Grand Slam champion explained why she decided to invest in Therabody. Given that she has suffered many injuries in her career, the field of wellness is not unexplored to her.
Maria Sharapova has a personal experience with Theragun

It was all about taking care of my body, making sure I recovered well, and that I had activated my body before the match, which is why the opportunity with Therabody was so exciting. Sharapova also mentioned that she worked with Dr.
Jason, the inventor, to build Therabody. Sharapova concluded, “I love working back and forth on creating these pieces that will eventually fall into people’s homes, onto their bodies and help them.”
In addition to Therabody, the Russian also has a line of sweets called Sugarpova. For years to come, fans could see her explore many sectors of business with the same ease as she championed tennis courts around the world.
