The Emerging Music Festival in Abitibi-Témiscamingue has found its new general manager. This is Marie-Luce Doré, responsible for culture, dissemination and animation at the City of La Sarre and founding member of the Festival des Langues sales.

After 15 years in the cultural field, in the same position, I didn't feel like I had done the trick. I always had lots of plans, but I seized an opportunity. The stars aligned, things settled down so that I could submit my application and get the job. I'm very happy, says Ms. Doré.

Although her position will frequently require her to travel to Rouyn-Noranda during the summer, she will also perform tasks from her home in Abitibi-Ouest.

Marie-Luce Doré confirms that the unveiling of the programming for the next FME should not take long, as well as for the Guinguette. At the moment, we are waiting for approvals. I can't confirm anything, but I can tell you that there are a lot of projects on the board, she says.

Positions are posted to fill some departures in the team that have taken place over the past year.

After a high-profile summer of 2022, the 21st edition of the Festival de Musique Emerging en Abitibi-Témiscamingue marks a return to normal.

Of course last year was the 20th anniversary event. But we'll be back with an equally flamboyant edition of the FME, promises Ms. Doré.
