The first episode of the kitchen reality show had several surprises

Misunderstandings, nervousness, various mistakes, jokes, famous phrases and the presentation of Mexican dishes more than desirable, were an important part of the start of the new season of MasterChef Mexico that this time will have 20 contestants and will not have the participation of Chef Benito , which saddened more than one of the followers of this cooking reality show.
The new installment of the TV Azteca program began amid great excitement and expectation, and although during the broadcast no one used a mask , it was previously explained that various security measures are carried out in the production to prevent coronavirus infections.
The host Anette Michelle explained that this edition has a very particular characteristic: the contestants were chosen through a rigorous virtual casting in which more than 3,000 people participated and they only chose 20 that we finally saw yesterday during the first program.
On the screen we could see Betty Vázquez and Adrián Herrera, veteran chef of the show, together with the master chocolatier José Ramón Castillo, who debuted in 2019 as a member of the jury and repeats for the second time, to evaluate the three dishes that were made during the night.
MasterChef México without Chef Benito: the program started with the first elimination
The contestants initially received three very special gifts from the MasterChef México jury: a box of personalized chocolates made by José Ramón Castillo that brought tears to each one; a special jam made with a tree planted by Chef Betty’s grandparents and a professional knife from Adrián Herrera.
During the first challenge, each of the participants demonstrated their talents in the kitchen, but the experts only tasted five dishes.
In this round, he highlighted the declaration of love that Lizbeth “Lizzi” Rodríguez made to the pastry expert, José Ramón Castillo.
“In the interviews I declared my love to him. I told him that I loved him and that I really wanted to see that vein that pops out when he laughs, “he said during his participation.

After the first challenge, Iker was victorious, who was able to go up to the balcony and chose Rolando to accompany him in this place, where they were exempt from the second challenge. Because of the complicity they showed during the first minutes of the competition and the use of hats, they were nicknamed “The secret on the balcony. A secret love ”.
In the second challenge, the contestants participated in pairs to develop different kinds of moles and from here the first candidates to go to the elimination challenge emerged.
In the final battle, they all had to prepare dishes with corn as the main ingredient and in this they faced José Luis, Angélica, Jorge, Atilana, Osvaldo, Itzel, Citlali, Cuauhtémoc, who is the son of the former soccer player and governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco.
Finally, the judges eliminated Angélica, who during her presentation stated that her dish was damaged and that the same led her to conclude her participation.

In this first episode the chefs highlighted that the contestants had many errors in their dishes, mainly cooking and lack of salt, which makes them doubt their skills.
And despite this, it was Anette Michel who explained to Infobae Mexico the progress of the participants: “I really saw them that at first, perhaps because of the situation that they were locked up, they were very shy, they were very nervous, they committed Many mistakes and I said, ‘My God’, as all the casting was through video calls and I said … ‘My God, the kitchen level …’ But no, he started to walk and they started cooking and tremendous cooks What are they. So I am very happy because for me it is very important that they cook well ”.
