The information about the visit to Paris came at a time when Zelenskyi was speaking to members of the British Parliament in London. The appearance, which was kept secret until the last moment, is part of only the second foreign trip of the Ukrainian president since the Russian invasion of last February. In England, in addition to a speech in parliament, he also had a meeting with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, King Charles III. and with Ukrainian soldiers trained by the British army.
While Zelensky's move to the British Isles was a surprise, since the beginning of the week the media has been speculating that the head of state attacked by Russia will visit Brussels on Thursday for the European Union summit. These assumptions have still not been confirmed, however, the spokesman for the head of EU summits, Charles Michel, said that the President of the European Council invited Zelensky to the summit of the twenty-seventh.
