“These are the three coldest days of this winter so far, when low temperatures were mainly in Šumava,” she said. On Monday, it was minus 29.8 degrees Celsius at the Perla station, and minus 28.3 degrees on Tuesday.
Today it was also very cold on the Rokytská slata in Šumava, where meteorologists measured minus 28.1 degrees Celsius. March recorded a temperature of minus 25.7 degrees Celsius. In lower locations in the south of Bohemia this morning, temperatures hovered around minus ten degrees Celsius. “It is nothing extraordinary, it corresponds to the fact that it is February. Only we have gotten a little used to such temperatures,” said Plášilová.
According to the forecast of meteorologists, however, it will warm up slightly in the coming days. Plášilová estimates that on Thursday morning it will be up to five degrees warmer in Šumava than today. From Friday, the morning temperatures there will probably approach minus 20 degrees Celsius.
