The governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta asked the federal government to include Puebla in the list of states that it will support with economic resources due to the effects left by Hurricane Grace, as he recalled that there was also damage in the state and up to 3 people lost their lives in the Sierra Norte.
In his usual press conference, the president expressed his solidarity with the states of Veracruz and Hidalgo, who also suffered the ravages of the cyclone that hit Mexican territory last weekend.
“We sympathize with the state of Veracruz, we sympathize with the state of Hidalgo and we ask the federation to also think about Puebla, the damage also affected Puebla, I ask the federation to extend its help to Puebla.”
He affirmed that in the next few hours he will formally communicate with the federation to request its intervention in the state, but he promised to direct the state budget to support with resources those who lost their homes and to repair roads that were “destroyed.”
Barbosa stressed that his government still works in the damaged areas because “It is impossible right now to have complete reports”; However, he warned that poor people are always the most affected by this type of meteorological situation.
“There are serious damages in crops, crops, roads, landslides, without a doubt it hits the poorest people, hits homes, the economy stops in all those places.”
According to Ana Lucía Hill Mayoral, head of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), a person lost his life in Huauchinango after the fall of a tree; meanwhile, two more died in Tlaola after a landslide that buried their home.
