Cairo – Modern pentathletes Karolína Křenková and Veronika Novotná they succeeded in qualifying at the opening World Cup this year in Cairo and won a direct promotion to the semi-finals. In their group B, the Czech representatives took 12th and 14th place. Only Lucie Hlaváčková, who was 22nd in group A, didn't make it to the next fights mainly because of broken fencing.

The men's qualification is on the program in Egypt on Wednesday, Jan Kuf, Ondřej Polívka, Ondřej Svěchota and Martin Vlach will also compete. The women will start the semifinals with the fencing round, and they will continue their fight for advancement to Saturday's final on Thursday.
