The aviation authority said it plans to release more information about the incident later.

The Moldovan authorities issued an airspace closure warning today at 11:24 local time (10:24 CET). They announced the opening at 14:47 (13:47 CET).

Moldova said last week that Russian missiles aimed at neighboring Ukraine flew over its airspace. Chisinau has strained relations with Russia over the situation in the separatist region of Transnistria, where the Russian army has its troops, and in recent days has accused Moscow of trying to destabilize Moldova and carry out a violent coup there.
