Moscow – The North Atlantic Alliance should hold an extraordinary summit on the explosions of the Nord Stream gas pipeline. This was stated by the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Marija Zakharova, late on Saturday evening. He refers to a report by American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, who claims that the destruction of the Russian gas pipeline was ordered by US President Joe Biden. Reuters informs about it today.

On Wednesday, Hersh published a lengthy text on his blog, in which he said that US Navy divers planted explosives on a gas pipeline that runs along the bottom of the Baltic Sea connecting Russia to Germany last year. In September, they detonated the explosives remotely, writes Hersh. According to him, they did so with the help of Norway. But Hersh relies on only one source.

Hersh won the Pulitzer Prize for his work in 1970, which is one of the most prestigious in the journalism industry. According to Hersh, the anonymous source he is now relying on has “direct knowledge of operational planning”.

The White House has denied being behind the Nord Stream explosions. Norway also refused to participate.

The explosion of the Russian submarine pipeline is being investigated by Sweden and Denmark, in whose exclusive economic zones the incident took place. The countries concluded that the pipeline was blown up deliberately, but did not say who was to blame.

The United States and NATO called the incident an “act of sabotage”. Moscow blamed the unexplained explosions on the West, causing a mutual rift. Neither side presented any evidence.

“There are more than enough facts: pipeline explosion, presence of a motive, indirect evidence obtained by journalists,” Zakharova wrote on the Telegram social network. “So when will the emergency NATO summit meet to assess the situation?” she added.
