The second round of the municipal elections approach : it will take place on June 28. In Paris, the last survey date gives Anne Hidalgo largely winning in front of Agnès Buzyn and Rachida Dati. But the candidate of The Republicans has not said its last word.
According to the survey Ifod-Fiduciary published in the JDD*, the list led by Anne Hidalgo (PS), which allied to that of the ecologists and the communist Party, will arrive well ahead of the vote Sunday, June 28,: 44% of respondents say that they indeed have the intention to vote for the mayor outgoing to the second round of the municipal elections in the capital. Hidalgo beat widely the list of Rachida Dati (LR), credited of 33%, and that of Agnès Buzyn (LREM), which could satisfy 20% of the vote.
The thorny issue of alliances in LREM and LR
However, nothing is played : because at the end of the second round, the Advisers of Paris, will vote to appoint the mayor of the capital for the next six years. And the unknown exists as to the vote of the elected representatives of The Republic on : could they vote for Rachida Dati, if it comes second ? An alliance was almost sealed in the Fifth arrondissement between the mayor outbound LREM Florence Berthout and the list The Republicans. But finally, the idea, which was to cringe in the ranks of the majority, has been rejected by Rachida Dati. The hypothesis of an election by the Councilors of Paris, Rachida Dati remains, therefore, unlikely….
Remains that to a more than two weeks before the election, everything is still possible, and Rachida Dati, like Anne Hidalgo, and the ex-minister of Health Agnes Buzyn, does not slacken its efforts to convince Parisians to give them their confidence. If the voters are torn between the three candidates still in the running, they will probably get a more precise idea on Wednesday 24 June. Indeed, it is the date that has been set for a discussion between Agnès Buzyn, Rachida Dati and Anne Hidalgo : it will be broadcasted on BFMTV and BFM Paris.
*This survey was conducted online from June 2 to 5, with 974 people registered on the electoral lists in Paris according to the method of quotas. Margin of error of 1.4 to 3.1 percentage points.
