HUGE LEAK The flooding on Sunday evening in the Wattignies district led to the closure of the Boulevard des Martyrs Nantes this Monday

The Loire-Atlantique fire brigade intervened on Sunday evening for flooding in several streets on the island of Nantes. The rain was not the cause, but rather a burst pipe, rue de la Porte Gellée, at Saint-Malo. proximity from the Wattignies tramway station (lines 2 and 3). 

Around 8:00 p.m., the water quickly spread in several streets, forcing divert traffic, especially that on the very busy Boulevard des Martyrs Nantes and Boulevard Gustave-Roch. An underground car park housing 40 cars has been copiously flooded, say the firefighters.

The channeling has been completed. closed in the evening by the metropolitan water service. Some 120 homes will be deprived of drinking water for the next few hours.

This Monday morning, the Nantes Martyrs Boulevard, which connects the Pirmil and Audibert bridges, remains partially closed. Tram traffic, on the other hand, is maintained.
