World-class debut for the restyling of the best seller Dacia Duster which had its European premiere on the field of the Dacia Arena, the Udinese Calcio stadium. An opportunity to strengthen the partnership that has long linked the Romanian brand and the Friulian bianconeri and present the new brand identity of Dacia which will appear on the team’s away kits, made by Macron using a new recycled and sustainable fabric. We were able to closely observe the renewed Dacia Duster present on the sidelines and here is a first taste of what are the main innovations.
Let’s start with the exterior design, with the front boasting a more contemporary style thanks to the optical signature with ECOLED and Y-shaped daytime running lights. Element that is taken from the 3D reliefs that we find on the new chrome grille. The direction indicators are also new, as well as the optical signature on the rear. Dacia engineers have worked on aerodynamics and efficiency, with the addition of a new rear spoiler and 16 and 17 ”wheels that allow for a reduction of 5.8 grams of CO2 in the four-wheel drive version. An advantage that is also reflected in consumption according to the Romanian brand.

The interiors have also been completely renovated, with new upholstery. The fabrics and shapes of the seats and headrests improve ergonomics, with the latter being thinner and allowing better visibility for both front and rear passengers. The center console has been raised, with a sliding armrest up to 70 mm which hides a 1.1-liter storage compartment as well as USB charging sockets for rear passengers. On the new Duster there are also several possibilities from the point of view of multimedia systems. In addition to the Dacia Plug & Music, the Media Display is available which includes DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity and smartphone replication or the Media Nav, with navigation and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and android auto. On the 4 × 4 version, the 4 × 4 Monitor is also available which includes some information for off-road driving such as altimeter, compass, pitch angle.
On the new Duster also comes the 6-speed EDC automatic transmission, combined with the 150 HP two-wheel drive TCe. Overall, the offer of engines always includes different options, from the 115 HP DCi diesel with 2 or 4 wheel drive, with 6-speed manual transmission, to the petrol one, proposed with different power levels: TCe 90 HP 2-wheel drive with 6-speed manual transmission, TCe 130 HP 2-wheel drive with 6-speed manual transmission (not marketed in Italy), TCe 150 HP 4-wheel drive with 6-speed manual transmission (not marketed in Italy) and the aforementioned TCe 150 HP 2-wheel drive with 6-speed EDC automatic transmission. Finally, the ECO-G 100 HP two-wheel drive petrol-LPG bifuel with 6-speed manual transmission. In this case, Dacia has further improved a power supply that places it at the top of the market, increasing the capacity of the tanks in order to guarantee an additional 250 km of mileage. The price list is not yet available which will be disclosed in the coming weeks, with a view to marketing scheduled from September.
