Dallas – Dallas basketball players lost in the NBA at home to Minnesota 121:124. The 36 points of recent addition Kyrie Irving, who scored 26 points in the last quarter, which was the best performance in the final twelve minutes of his career, did not help them either. Denver won 112-108 over Miami and leads the Western Conference with five wins.

The Los Angeles Lakers without LeBron James lost 115-127 to Portland, which was led by Damian Lillard's 40 points. Jalen Brunson also scored 40 points in New York's 124-106 derby win over Brooklyn, and Donovan Mitchell scored 41 points to lead Cleveland to a 117-109 win over San Antonio.

Irving played for the first time since the transfer from Brooklyn on the home board of Dallas, but he was looking for a long time. He gave only four points at halftime, added six in the third quarter, and Dallas went into the final quarter with a 16-point deficit. But then Irving went on a rampage, contributing 26 points in the quarter as Dallas had one last drive to tie the score at the end.

But Minnesota's defense worked well, not allowing Irving to shoot, as well as Luka Doncic, and finally taking the ball away from Dallas. “We didn't get a shot, we just passed each other. I tried to prepare a shot for him, he for me, but it was a great defense,” acknowledged Dončič, the author of 33 points. Minnesota was led by Anthony Edwards with 32 points.

Denver did not enter the match well and was already losing to Miami by 11 points, but quickly managed to turn the score around thanks to the accurate hand of Nikola Jokic. The two-time Most Valuable Player of the competition was well defended but converted whenever he got a shot. He finished the game with 12 successful shots from 14 attempts and 27 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists.

“Nikola is a great player. He makes everyone around him better. They hit everything. They're really hard to beat and they're not the first team in the conference for nothing,” Miami player Max Strus said.

The Lakers with new reinforcements, but without LeBron James, could not defend the perimeter. Portland made 23 3-pointers in its win, with 17 in the first half a club record. Lillard hit eight of those threes. He is already in fourth place among the best scorers in the league with an average of 31.2 points per game. The Lakers' best scorer was recent signing Malik Beasley with 22 points.

Charlotte beat Atlanta 144:138 in a shootout. LaMelo Ball contributed 30 points and 15 assists. Czech national team member Vít Krejčí watched the game only from the Hawks bench.

Cleveland won for the seventh time in a row. Against the Spurs, he led by 18 points at halftime as Mitchell scored 23 of his 41 points in the first half.
